Can my period give me a fever?

Every time my period starts, I feel really run down and sometimes even get a slight fever, like 99-100 F. Is this normal, or should I be worried? My mom says it's probably just period cramps, but the fever worries me a bit.

Honestly, I used to feel so down and exhausted every month thinking I was getting a fever, and it really messed with my mental peace. It is actually quite common to feel hot or get 'period flu' due to hormonal changes, but do track your actual temperature with a thermometer.

Beta, body temperature slightly increases during periods because of heat in the body. Drink lukewarm water, take proper rest, and have some light ginger tea. But if the fever is high, please do not rely on home remedies and visit a doctor.

Haan, thoda garm lagta hai shareer un dino mein. Aap bilkul chinta mat karo, thoda aaram karo aur achha khana khao. Agar bukhar tez ho jaye toh doctor didi ko dikha lena.

Actually yaar, hormonal changes can make you feel super feverish, like a mild heat inside. But if it's a proper high fever with chills, it might be some infection and not just your period. Better to get it checked out, doc will tell you clearly.

The body undergoes a lot of hormonal shifts during cycles, which can cause a feeling of heat. Doing gentle deep breathing or Shitali pranayama can help cool down your system. However, for actual fever, please take rest and consult a medical practitioner.

Yes, mild temperature changes are normal due to progesterone levels. Just keep tracking your temperature and see a doctor if it goes above 100 degrees.

A slight rise in basal body temperature is normal, but a proper clinical fever is not directly caused by periods. If you have high fever, pelvic pain, or foul discharge, please visit a gynecologist immediately to rule out any pelvic infection.
