Can muscle relaxers make pain worse?

My doctor gave me some muscle relaxers for my chronic back pain. I'm a bit hesitant to take them because I heard from someone that sometimes these medicines can make the pain worse. Is that really possible?

Dekho, agar galat tarike se ya bina prescription ke muscle relaxer khaoge toh side effects toh honge hi. Sometimes they make you so drowsy and weak that your posture gets worse, causing more pain the next day. Stop experimenting and consult a proper doctor.

Yes, occasionally they can. If the surrounding muscles relax too much, the unstable joint has to work harder, which can increase your pain. I always tell people to use these medicines strictly as advised by their doctor and combine it with gentle physiotherapy.

Actually yaar, it can happen if your muscles get too weak or loose from the pill, making other parts of your body strain to support you. I felt super sore after taking one last year. Better to tell your doc immediately if the pain is worsening instead of getting better.

I took a muscle relaxer for my back pain once and felt so dizzy and achy the next day. That is when I shifted to warm hot water bags and gentle mustard oil massages ghar pe. Sometimes medicines don't suit everyone, so please ask your doctor if your pain is increasing.

At 55, my body is already a museum of aches. Once I took a muscle relaxer and it relaxed my muscles so much that I couldn't even get out of bed, and my back ended up hurting twice as much from the awkward posture! Talk to your doc, these pills can be tricky.
