Can muscle relaxer help migraine?

Very bad migraines are something I suffer from, and sometimes my neck and shoulder muscles get really stiff. My friend takes muscle relaxers for his back pain. Can a muscle relaxer provide any relief for a migraine headache?

Hey, don't stress too much! Migraines are the absolute worst. Sometimes if your migraine is triggered by tight neck and shoulder muscles, a muscle relaxer can actually help ease the tension. Just talk to your doctor before popping one, okay? Take rest!

Honestly, during a bad migraine, I'd take anything that stops the hammer inside my head. My doc once gave me a muscle relaxer because my neck was super stiff during the attack. It helped me pass out and sleep, which was a blessing, but check with your doctor first.

Do not start taking muscle relaxers for migraines based on internet advice. Migraines are complex neurological issues, and muscle relaxers are not the standard first-line treatment. Only a neurologist or doctor can prescribe the correct triptans or preventive medicines after examining you.

Yes, they can help, but only if your migraine is being triggered by severe neck tension or spasms. My neurologist prescribed one for me alongside my usual migraine meds. If it's a pure vascular migraine, muscle relaxers won't do much. Get a proper diagnosis.

I get severe headaches due to my thyroid fluctuations, and my doctor always warns me against self-treating with random pills like muscle relaxers. It is very important to get your regular blood tests and consult your doctor to find the root cause of these headaches.

My college-going daughter gets terrible migraines during exams from sitting and studying for hours. Her doctor prescribed a mild muscle relaxer because her neck muscles were completely jammed. It really helped her, but we only use it under strict medical guidance.

I get migraines from skipping meals or eating too much processed food. Once, a friend suggested a muscle relaxer for the neck pain, but honestly, a dark room, a light ginger tea, and a proper meal did more for me. Better to ask your doctor before trying such heavy meds!
