Can mono cause hepatitis?

I'm recovering from a bad case of mono, and now my doctor is suggesting some liver function tests because he suspects hepatitis. Can mononucleosis actually lead to hepatitis?

Yes, it can cause mild liver inflammation. When my nephew had this, we gave him fresh coconut water and completely oil-free food to keep his digestion light. But please make sure you keep the doctor updated with regular blood tests.

Actually I was reading about this yesterday and learned that the EBV virus can sometimes cause mild hepatitis. It is usually temporary though. Has your doctor recommended any specific tests for this?

Yes, mono can affect the liver, but you need proper blood work to know for sure. Dont waste time trying to guess. Just book an LFT test online, get the reports, and consult your physician over a quick video call.

Any liver involvement needs professional medical supervision. Please do not ignore this or wait for it to resolve on its own. Go see your doctor immediately and get a proper diagnosis.

Mono can cause liver inflammation, which means you need to halt all heavy workouts. No heavy lifting or intense cardio because your spleen might also be enlarged. Just rest up and eat clean protein until you get the green light.

Don't listen to random people telling you to drink juices or take herbs for liver issues. Hepatitis is serious and needs clinical evaluation. Go to a qualified general physician and get actual medical advice.

Haan, bilkul ho sakta hai, liver enzymes upper chale jaate hain isme. But tension mat lo, correct medical guidance se thik ho jata hai. Dr ko dikha lo na bina time waste kiye.

It does put pressure on your liver, so you have to be very careful. Avoid all heavy, greasy, or deep-fried foods completely right now. Stick to simple, home-cooked meals like khichdi and boiled vegetables so your system can rest.

Oh I got so scared when my LFT reports showed high numbers during mono, I thought my liver was failing. But my doctor reassured me it is very common and it goes back to normal on its own as you recover. Just rest well.
