Can mold exposure cause eczema?

We had some mold issues in our old apartment, and around that time, my eczema started flaring up really badly. My mother said it might be related. Could exposure to mold cause or worsen eczema? I'm trying to figure out what triggers my flare-ups.

Yes, mold exposure can definitely trigger or worsen eczema flares. Mold spores act as potent environmental allergens that can compromise the skin barrier in sensitive individuals. While keeping your home dry is crucial, I highly recommend consulting a dermatologist to get a targeted treatment plan for your skin.

Since I have thyroid issues, my skin is already prone to extreme dryness and flares easily. I noticed that being in a moldy room triggers my eczema immediately due to the allergic reaction. Make sure to get your thyroid checked regularly too, and follow up with a dermatologist if your skin doesn't improve.

At my age, my skin already has a mind of its own, but damp moldy walls make my itching go to a whole new level! Mold is definitely a major culprit for skin allergies like eczema. I have started spending more on damp-proofing my walls than on my actual anti-aging face creams now!

Dude, yes! My bedroom had a bad mold patch behind the cupboard last monsoon, and my eczema flared up like crazy on my hands and neck. It was so itchy and annoying. Once I cleaned the mold with bleach and started using a moisturizer, my skin cleared up within a couple of weeks.

I was just researching environmental triggers for skin issues and found out that inhaling mold spores actually makes our immune system overreact, which can easily trigger eczema. It's crazy how air quality affects our skin. Has anyone found a good air purifier that actually helps with mold spores?
