Can mold cause diarrhea and vomiting?

We've been dealing with a mold problem in our kitchen since the monsoon, and recently, my kids and I have been experiencing unexplained diarrhea and occasional vomiting. We haven't eaten anything unusual. Can mold cause diarrhea and vomiting?

Eating food contaminated with mold can definitely upset your stomach and lead to food poisoning, causing vomiting and diarrhea. Keep your meal prep fresh, store things properly, and stay hydrated with electrolytes if you're sick.

If you accidentally ate moldy bread or fruit, diarrhea and vomiting are common reactions. Don't wait around for it to get worse; if you can't keep liquids down, visit a clinic immediately to get hydration support.

When my son had severe gastroenteritis, the doctor at Fortis told us that mold toxins in old food are highly toxic to the gut. You must ask your doctor clearly about the right medication to stop the dehydration.

I went through a horrible week of severe food poisoning from moldy jam, and the constant vomiting made me feel so weak and miserable. I completely understand how awful you must be feeling right now, please take care.

Our digestive system is very sensitive to toxins from moldy food. After the vomiting stops, try drinking warm fennel seed water to soothe your stomach, but make sure to rest and let your body heal naturally.
