Can mold cause diabetes?

I was recently diagnosed with Type 2 diabetes, and I'm trying to find out all possible contributing factors. We had a persistent mold issue in our basement for years. Is there any link? Can mold cause diabetes?

I read some weird article online and panicked thinking the dampness in my kitchen was giving my husband high blood sugar. My doctor laughed and reassured me that diabetes is purely related to insulin, genetics, and diet, not mold.

Now we are blaming mold for diabetes too? My sweet tooth and sedentary lifestyle are doing a perfectly fine job of that on their own! There is no scientific connection between mold and diabetes, trust me.

Diabetes is a metabolic disorder caused by insulin resistance or lack of insulin production. Mold is a respiratory allergen and has no medical association with blood sugar levels; consult a doctor for proper diabetes risk assessment.

There is no clinical evidence that mold causes diabetes. Focus on keeping your sugar intake low, eating fiber-rich vegetarian meals, and exercising regularly to manage your metabolic health instead.

Don't trust these random internet conspiracy theories linking mold toxins to diabetes. Verify your health doubts with a qualified endocrinologist instead of searching on suspicious wellness blogs.

I was actually researching this online out of curiosity. Some niche studies talk about mold toxins causing inflammation, but major medical institutions state there is no direct link to diabetes at all.
