Can migraine headaches cause death?

I've been suffering from severe migraines for years now, and sometimes the pain is so intense, it feels like my head might just burst. My aunt once told me that her friend actually passed away during a very bad migraine attack. Is it true, can they really cause death?

Honestly, when the pain hits, I wish it would just end me! But seriously, no, it won't kill you. It just steals your sleep and makes you look like a zombie for a couple of days.

I completely understand why you might think that because the throbbing pain is just so intense. But please relax, migraines are not fatal at all. Just take your prescribed medication and rest in a quiet, dark room.

Dekho, migraine se maut nahi hoti. It is just a highly painful neurological condition. If you are having extreme anxiety about it, please see a doctor who can explain the science and put your mind at ease.

If migraines could kill, half of the corporate employees in Gurgaon would be gone by now! Don't worry, your head feels like a pressure cooker but it won't explode. Go have some ginger tea and chill.

No way yaar, actually migraines are completely non-fatal. It's just a crazy headache that messes up your day. Don't read too much on Google, it always shows the worst things and unnecessarily scares people.

Absolutely not! It just kills your appetite for a day and makes you hate the smell of food, which is the real tragedy for me. Once the headache goes away, treat yourself to a nice warm soup or light khichdi.

I was looking this up recently because my mom gets terrible attacks. Medical articles state that migraines themselves are not life-threatening. However, any sudden, extremely severe 'thunderclap' headache should be checked by a doctor immediately just to be safe.

I totally get it, when the pain is on one side and you can't even open your eyes, it feels extremely scary. But please rest assured that migraines do not cause death. You are going to be completely fine, just give your body some time to recover.
