Can migraine cause diarrhoea?

Whenever I get a migraine, besides the horrible headache, I also tend to get an upset stomach and sometimes even diarrhoea. I'm wondering if diarrhoea can actually be a symptom of migraine.

Bro, yes it actually does. Whenever I get a killer migraine, my stomach completely goes for a toss and I have to run to the washroom. It's like the brain and gut are connected, so both get messed up together.

While it can happen, be very careful about dehydration. Once I ignored severe diarrhoea during a migraine attack and my blood pressure dropped dangerously low, landing me in the clinic. If you can't keep liquids down, please see a doctor immediately.

Yes, gut issues are very common during a migraine phase. I always sip on ORS or coconut water to stay hydrated when this happens. Avoid taking heavy dairy or spicy food till your head clears up, and keep your regular doctor-prescribed migraine pill ready.

I totally understand how scary it is when your stomach starts acting up during a headache. I used to panic thinking it was some major infection. But actually, it is quite common during migraines due to autonomic nervous system changes, so please don't stress.

As if the splitting headache wasn't enough, my body decides to add loose motions to the mix. It is definitely a thing, probably because migraine slows down your entire digestion. I just end up spending half my day in the bathroom wishing for sleep.
