Can mental health affect physical health?

Lately, I've been under a lot of stress at work, and I've also started having frequent headaches and body pains. I'm wondering if my mental state is directly affecting my physical health.

Yes, stress and anxiety can manifest as severe stomach pain, headaches, or even muscle tension. Doing regular deep breathing and drinking warm chamomile tea can help calm your nervous system. But if you start experiencing severe chest tightness or chronic pain, please see a doctor immediately.

I used to suffer from severe depression, and during that time, my body literally felt like it was shutting down with constant fatigue and joint pain. People kept telling me it was in my head, but the physical pain was so real. Please know that your mind and body are fully connected, and your pain is completely valid.

Absolutely. High work stress consistently messed up my sleep and led to severe acid reflux and high blood pressure. If you are ignoring your mental health, your physical body will eventually force you to stop. Plan some downtime, set boundaries at work, and consult a professional if needed.

Totally, bro. During my college exams, my anxiety was so bad that I literally couldn't digest any food and lost like 3 kilos in two weeks. Our brain controls everything, so if you are stressed out, your stomach and sleep are going to get completely wrecked.

Hey, it is a proven fact that chronic stress releases cortisol, which weakens your immune system over time. That is why you might fall sick more often when you are going through a tough phase. Take a step back, rest well, and remember that taking care of your mind is the first step to a healthy body.

Yes, stress plays a huge role in hormonal imbalances. My thyroid levels went completely haywire during a highly stressful phase in my life, which caused sudden weight gain and extreme exhaustion. It's very important to get regular blood tests and keep in touch with your doctor to manage this.

Listen to me, don't stress too much about all this, but yes, they are totally linked! When I'm super tensed, I get these crazy tension headaches. Just take it easy, go out for a walk, watch something funny, and let your mind relax a bit, okay?
