Can medicine cause kidney stones?

My doctor recently prescribed a new medicine for my arthritis, and I'm already on a few others for my heart. My neighbor had kidney stones recently and he mentioned his doctor said some medicines can cause them. I'm a bit concerned if any of my current medications might put me at risk.

Yes, some medications can load the kidneys. Along with drinking plenty of water, doing light twists and deep pranayama daily can help improve blood flow to the abdominal organs and support kidney health naturally.

Great, so the cure comes with a free souvenir in the form of a kidney stone! Don't worry too much, just keep chugging water like it's your job and talk to your doctor about other options.

Haan bhai, bilkul ho sakta hai. Kuch heavy medicines se kidney me minerals jama hone lagte hain na. Thoda pani jyada piya karo aur doctor se baat karke dawai badalwa lo agar problem ho rahi hai toh.

I can only speak from my own experience. I was taking a lot of antacids daily for acidity, and later my doctor told me the calcium in them contributed to my kidney stone. I stopped taking them and the issue cleared up.

I always go to Apollo Hospital for my treatments, and my doctor there told me that some specific medications can indeed cause crystal formation. You should directly show your prescription to your doctor and ask if any of your pills are the culprit.

Yes, scientifically certain medications like loop diuretics, topiramate, and even some vitamin supplements can increase kidney stone risk. It is always best to let your doctor analyze your medication history before making any changes.

As a high BP patient, I know certain diuretics or water pills can cause kidney stones if we aren't careful. Keep getting your kidney function and serum calcium tested regularly, and make lifestyle changes like reducing salt in your diet.
