Can malaria be transmitted through blood?

I regularly donate blood, and with the recent rise in malaria cases, I'm a bit worried. I know the primary way is mosquitoes, but can malaria also be transmitted if someone receives blood from an infected person?

Yes, absolutely it can. Malaria is a blood parasite, so any direct blood-to-blood contact like sharing needles or during blood transfusions can transmit it. Keep this in mind and always ensure sterile syringes are used.

I was munching on some rolls when my doctor friend told me this. Because the malaria parasite lives right inside our red blood cells, it can easily travel through blood transfers. It makes sense why blood banks are so strict about screening donors.

My doctor told me that since I have survived both high cholesterol and old age, I should know malaria is a blood-borne guy. Yes, it travels through blood, though thankfully we don't go around sharing blood unless we are donating it!

I just recovered from malaria, and during my hospital stay, they explained that blood transmission is indeed possible. It is rare compared to mosquito bites, but things like organ transplants or dirty needles can definitely pass it on.

Haan beta, khun ke raste malaria fail sakta hai. Agar bimar vyakti ka khun kisi swasth insaan ko bina jaanch ke chadhaya jaye, toh use bhi ho jayega. Hospital me humesha dhyan rakhna chahiye.

Yes, it can pass through blood because the illness resides there. While we try home remedies like herbal tea for recovery, medical facts are facts. Always make sure blood transfusion is done only from certified, safe labs.
