Can malaria be passed from person to person?

There have been a few malaria cases in our building recently, and I'm quite concerned, especially for my kids. I know mosquitoes spread it, but can it also spread directly from one person to another if someone is infected?

I just recovered from malaria last week and my family was so scared of catching it from me. But my doctor clearly said it doesn't spread through hugging, sharing food, or coughing. It only spreads when an infected mosquito bites you, so just focus on keeping mosquitoes away from your house.

Just to be clear, malaria is not like a cold or flu that you can catch by sitting next to someone. It requires a mosquito vector to transmit the parasite. Focus on using mosquito coils or nets in your room rather than isolating the patient.

Don't worry, you won't get malaria even if the patient sneezes right on your face! Unless that person is secretly a female Anopheles mosquito, you are completely safe. Keep the repellent handy and chill.

Actually, malaria is not a contagious disease in the traditional sense. It only travels through blood, which means either through a mosquito bite, blood transfusion, or shared needles. You can comfortably take care of your family member without worrying about getting infected directly.

Agreed, malaria doesn't spread through casual contact at all. Just ensure there is no stagnant water around your home where mosquitoes can breed.

Haan, bilkul darrne ki baat nahi hai. Malaria koi chhune se thodi na failta hai yaar. Bas patient ko machhardani me rakho taaki dusre machhar unhe kaat ke baki gharwalon ko na kaate.
