Can lower back pain put pressure on bladder?

My lower back has been really stiff and painful since I slipped a few months ago. Now, I constantly feel like I need to use the washroom, even when my bladder isn't full. Could the back pain somehow be affecting my bladder?

Yes, it can. My neurologist explained that the nerves controlling your bladder exit from the lower part of your spinal cord. A severe disc herniation or spinal stenosis can compress these nerves, leading to bladder pressure or issues. If you experience loss of bladder control, seek emergency medical care immediately.

Actually yaar, my cousin had this exact issue where his lower back was hurting and he felt this constant pressure to pee. The doctor told him a slipped disc was irritating the pelvic nerves. Definitely don't ignore it, go see a doctor soon.

Since I manage diabetes, bladder pressure is something I have to watch closely as it can indicate high sugar or nerve damage. If you have lower back pain as well, it might be spinal nerve compression. It is highly advisable to get your blood sugar and spine evaluated by a doctor.

Yes, nerve compression in the lumbar spine can definitely cause a sensation of bladder pressure. However, it can also be due to a urinary tract infection or pelvic issue. Because the symptoms overlap, getting a professional evaluation from a doctor is the safest approach.

Beta, at our age, we sometimes feel these pressures because the muscles and nerves in the lower back get weak. Make sure you stay warm and don't lift heavy weights. But since it is affecting your bladder, please do consult a proper doctor for checkups.

I've been feeling this constant, uncomfortable pressure on my bladder along with a dull lower backache for three days now. Has anyone else experienced this? It's making me really anxious. Did it go away on its own or did you have to see a specialist?

I completely understand how stressful this is, because any issue with the bladder can make you panic instantly. But please stay calm. It is often just referred pain from stiff lower back muscles or a pinched nerve. Take a deep breath and book a doctor's appointment to get a clear answer.

Haan na, it is actually quite scary when you feel that heavy pressure on your bladder along with a bad backache. The lower body nerves are so closely packed. It is better to show it to a doctor rather than worrying at home, ho na?

Yes, spinal nerve irritation can mimic bladder issues. I had a similar scare and went to a top urologist at Apollo Hospital. I suggest you go to a good multi-specialty hospital and ask your doctor clearly to rule out both spinal and urinary conditions.

Look, if your back is aching and you constantly feel pressure on your bladder, it's not something to sit and research online. Go to a hospital and get a proper scan done. If there's a pinched nerve or infection, the doctor will find it and treat it.
