Can low thyroid cause vision problems?

My vision has become quite blurry lately, and it's worrying me. I already have an underactive thyroid. Can low thyroid function cause problems with my eyesight?

My doctor explained that severe thyroid issues, especially autoimmune ones like Graves' or even Hashimoto's, can cause eye dryeness, swelling, or double vision. It is very important to get your thyroid levels checked and consult an ophthalmologist alongside your endocrinologist.

I ignored my blurry vision and dry eyes for months thinking it was just too much screen time, and I really regret it because it was actually due to severe thyroid imbalance. Please go get a thyroid test and see a specialist before it gets worse.

Wait, really? My eyes have been feeling super dry and blurry lately, and I just blamed my late-night study sessions and phone. I didn't know thyroid could cause this. I should probably get a blood test done just to be safe.

Yes, when my thyroid was underactive, my eyes used to feel incredibly dry and irritated, which made my vision feel blurry sometimes. Using lubricating eye drops helped, but balancing my thyroid levels with medication was the actual fix.

Your thyroid gland is like the power generator of the body, so when it runs low, even your eyes might lose some power! Don't stress too much, just get your thyroid levels checked and your vision should go back to normal once you start treatment.
