Can low thyroid cause depression?

I've been feeling persistently low and depressed for a while now, and it's affecting my daily life. My doctor recommended checking my thyroid levels. Is there a link between low thyroid and depression?

Yes, thyroid hormones directly regulate your brain chemistry. Hypothyroidism can easily mimic clinical depression, making you feel constantly low and exhausted. Skip the self-help books for a bit and get your TSH levels checked first.

When our physical body is out of balance, our mind also feels heavy and sad. Try to practice gentle meditation, keep a hopeful heart, and take care of your health. A visit to a doctor to check your thyroid will help restore peace to both body and mind.

I went through severe mood crashes and brain fog when my thyroid levels dropped. Many people don't realize it is a physical issue and blame themselves. Once you get on the correct thyroid dosage, your mood will start improving significantly.

Chronic conditions like low thyroid can affect our mental health, just like managing diabetes sometimes feels draining. Eating a balanced diet and keeping your metabolism active is helpful, but the most important step is consulting an endocrinologist.

It definitely can! Low thyroid slows down everything in your body, including your happy hormones. Don't lose hope, a simple daily tablet prescribed by a doctor can work wonders and bring your cheerful self back.

I used to think I was getting depressed because of my job, but a blood report showed it was just my lazy thyroid sitting on its job! Get a quick blood test done, it might just be your hormones playing tricks on your mood.

Having PCOS has taught me how deeply hormones affect our mental health and cause low moods. Low thyroid is another very common reason for feeling depressed. Please be gentle with yourself and speak to a specialist to get your levels checked.
