Can low thyroid cause anxiety?

Lately, I've been feeling quite anxious and on edge without any clear reason. My recent blood test showed my thyroid levels are a bit low. Can low thyroid actually cause anxiety?

Yes, hormonal changes like low thyroid can absolutely trigger anxiety and restlessness. I have high BP and notice that keeping my lifestyle active and doing regular health checkups helps keep these symptoms under control. Make sure to get your thyroid levels checked regularly.

I made the huge mistake of thinking my anxiety was just work stress, and I ignored it for a year until my thyroid condition became very bad. Don't make the same mistake. Go get your blood tested and see a doctor right away.

I have seen many people in our community complain of sudden panic and anxiety, only to find out their thyroid levels were off. Our hormones control our mood more than we think. Just get a simple TSH test done and discuss it with your general physician.

Drinking warm chamomile tea and doing deep breathing can help soothe your mind temporarily. But if the anxiety is because of low thyroid, you must see a doctor. Natural tips are good for daily comfort, but medical treatment is necessary for hormone balance.

Please don't ignore this. I ignored my mood changes and anxiety for months, and it later led to severe health issues and panic attacks because my thyroid levels had dropped drastically. Please visit an endocrinologist as soon as possible to get properly evaluated.

Sometimes our body tells us when it is tired, and that shows up as anxiety in our minds. Keep a calm mind, practice some light breathing exercises, and take care of your body. Do consult a doctor for your thyroid, as physical healing helps spiritual peace too.
