Can low potassium cause a heart attack?

My father had a heart attack a few years ago, and I remember his doctor talking about potassium levels. If my potassium is low, does it put me at risk for a heart attack?

Potassium is extremely important for muscle contraction, especially your heart muscle. If your levels are severely low, it can cause dangerous heart rhythms, which is a serious medical emergency. I'd suggest avoiding any heavy gym workouts or running until you consult your doctor and get your electrolyte levels fully restored.

My fitness app alerts me if my electrolyte intake is too low, because potassium is vital for the heart's electrical signals. Severe hypokalemia can cause arrhythmias, which can be life-threatening if ignored. If you are experiencing any chest pain or palpitations, please consult a cardiologist immediately instead of tracking it yourself.

Actually, severe low potassium is no joke, yaar. It can cause serious heart rhythm issues which can turn dangerous very fast. If you are feeling any weird chest pain or dizziness, please don't wait for a reply here and just go to a hospital right away.

I had severe muscle cramps and heart palpitations last year, and the hospital found that my potassium levels were dangerously low. They had to give me intravenous fluids to correct it safely. If you are having chest discomfort, please get medical help immediately, as it is a critical situation.

Beta, the heart is the most precious part of our body. Low potassium can definitely make the heart weak and beat in a strange way, which is very risky. Please go to a good hospital nearby and get your blood tested immediately so the doctors can take proper care of you.

Yes, severe potassium deficiency can mess up your heart's rhythm and can lead to cardiac arrest in extreme cases. As someone who works out a lot, I make sure to include natural sources like coconut water and bananas in my daily diet to keep electrolytes balanced. But if you have chest tightness, please stop exercising and see a doctor immediately.
