Can low iron cause fever?

I've been having these unexplained low-grade fevers on and off for a few weeks now. My doctor mentioned my iron levels were slightly low. Could low iron be causing these fevers?

In my experience, low iron itself didn't give me a fever, but it made me feel constantly cold and weak, like I was about to fall sick. However, whenever I did catch a mild infection, my body had a harder time fighting it off. It is always better to get a proper medical opinion if you are running an actual fever.

Oh, actually low iron makes your immunity super weak, so you can catch viral infections and fevers very easily. I used to fall sick almost every month until my doctor helped me fix my iron levels. But if you have a high fever right now, please don't wait and show a doctor today itself.

Please be very careful with this. Low iron generally causes weakness or pale skin, not a fever, which is usually a sign of some infection in the body. You should not ignore a fever or try to self-diagnose; go to a clinic and get checked by a qualified professional immediately.

I totally panicked last year when I had a low-grade fever and my routine blood test showed very low iron levels; I thought it was something major. My doctor reassured me that the fever was just a mild cold, but my low iron was making me feel ten times worse and more exhausted. Once I got treated for both, I was completely fine.

I get so anxious whenever I run even a mild fever, my mind immediately goes to the worst things. While anemia can make your body feel very warm or cold and mess up your temperature control, a real fever usually means your body is fighting off something else. Please get your temperature logged and talk to a doctor so you can have peace of mind.
