Can liver enzymes be elevated due to dehydration?

I just got my blood test results back, and my liver enzymes are slightly high. The doctor asked if I was well hydrated. Can liver enzymes be elevated just because of dehydration, or does it always point to something more serious?

Yes, dehydration can lead to concentrated blood samples, which can artificially elevate liver enzyme levels. Just rehydrate properly and repeat the test after consulting your doctor.

Yes, lack of water can definitely affect your blood tests and show elevated enzymes. Drink plenty of water and retest.

Hey, don't stress too much about it! Just make sure you are drinking 2-3 liters of water daily and ask your doctor if you should repeat the test next week.

Actually yaar, dehydration can cause mild spikes in your liver reports because of blood concentration. Just drink up and get a fresh test done after talking to your doc.

Drinking coconut water or fresh buttermilk helps maintain your body's fluid levels naturally. Dehydration can indeed skew blood reports, but please let a doctor verify the final results.

Dehydration puts extra stress on your organs, potentially showing higher enzymes in blood tests. Sip warm water and fresh juices, but definitely consult a doctor for a proper plan.

When my test reports came back slightly elevated, my doctor told me it could be because I was dehydrated during the fasting period. After drinking enough fluids, my next test was completely fine.

I had high SGOT/SGPT once when I didn't drink enough water during heavy gym workouts. Hydrated well for a week, got retested, and they came back totally normal.

Dehydration can affect metabolic readings, including liver enzymes, especially if you have high blood sugar. Make sure to stay well-hydrated and consult your physician for accurate guidance.

Yes, it can happen, but don't use dehydration as an excuse to ignore high liver enzymes. Get a doctor to evaluate the report properly to rule out actual liver damage.

Dehydration is a known cause of temporary spikes in LFTs. Plan a follow-up test after hydrating properly for a few days, and consult your doctor for a definitive review.
