Can liver disease cause hypertension?

I was diagnosed with high blood pressure a few months ago, and despite medication, it's still a bit uncontrolled. My brother, who is a nurse, asked me if my liver function was okay. Is it possible that liver disease can cause hypertension?

Portal hypertension is a serious complication of liver damage. Don't waste time looking for home remedies; book a consultation with a gastroenterologist as soon as possible.

Yes, it can, and the tests for this can be quite expensive. I suggest planning your budget and looking for diagnostic labs that offer bundled packages for liver function and blood pressure monitoring.

Absolutely, liver scarring blocks blood flow, leading to portal hypertension. This is a critical medical condition that requires proper management by a liver specialist.

I was diagnosed with portal hypertension due to liver issues last year. It was scary, but proper medication and strict lifestyle changes under my doctor's guidance helped stabilize my condition.
