Can liver disease cause back pain?

I've been having persistent lower back pain for months, and no amount of massage or rest seems to help. Someone at the gym suggested that liver problems can sometimes cause referred pain. Can liver disease actually be a cause for back pain?

You can try using a warm compress or drinking ginger water to soothe general aches. But if the back pain is deep and on the upper right side, it might be related to your liver, so please get it checked by a doctor.

Actually yaar, liver pain can sometimes reflect to your back or right shoulder, it's called referred pain. Don't just ignore it thinking it's a gym injury or posture issue, get it checked.

Unexplained back pain can sometimes be a sign of liver or gallbladder issues. For your own safety, please see a physician and get an abdominal ultrasound done to rule out anything serious.

At my age, back pain is common, but when my friend had a persistent ache coupled with fatigue, it was his liver. Don't worry, but do get a routine checkup to be certain.

I had a dull ache in my upper right back for weeks and thought it was just bad posture. Turns out it was fatty liver and inflammation. Getting an LFT and changing my diet solved it.

As a diabetic, I am always careful about new pains, as liver issues are common for us. If you have back pain, please consult your doctor before taking random painkillers, as some can strain your liver further.
