Can liver damage cause itchy skin?

My father recently had a check-up and the doctor mentioned some concerns about his liver. Lately, he's been complaining of really itchy skin, especially in the evenings. Is there a connection between liver damage and having an itchy feeling all over the body?

Yes, it definitely can cause severe itching all over. Don't sit on it or ignore this, go get an LFT test done as soon as possible and show a proper doctor.

My father went through this last year where his whole body was itching like crazy. It turned out to be related to his liver health, so based on what we saw, it's really important to get blood tests done right away.

Actually yes, liver issues can trigger terrible itching yaar. I remember my uncle had this and we thought it was just some random skin allergy, but it was actually his liver. Pls check with a doc soon.

At my age, even a minor itch makes me wonder which organ is complaining now! But seriously, liver issues are notorious for making your skin super itchy. Better to get a quick checkup before you scratch yourself to pieces.

My teenager had severe itching and yellowing eyes a couple of years back. It is incredibly stressful to see them suffer like that, so please don't delay. Take them to a gastroenterologist for a proper evaluation.
