Can lisinopril cause joint pain?

Recently, I've started experiencing a lot of joint pain in my knees and hands, making daily activities difficult. I'm on lisinopril for my hypertension, and I'm wondering if this medication could be contributing to my joint pain. Has anyone else experienced this?

Oh god, when I started lisinopril even my knees started aching and I totally panicked thinking it was some major bone issue. But honestly, I spoke to my doc and he said it's a known side effect that happens to some people. It actually got much better after a few weeks once my body adjusted, so don't stress too much!

Actually, some people do report joint issues with BP meds. I'd suggest keeping up with light mobility exercises and stretching daily to keep the joints lubricated. Also, make sure your hydration and diet are clean, but definitely loop in your cardiologist before changing anything about your routine.

I always try to drink thoda haldi doodh or warm water with ginger when my joints ache, it really helps with mild inflammation. But since you are on BP medication like lisinopril, please check with your doctor first. If the pain gets really severe or you get swelling, don't ignore it and get a checkup done immediately.

My son was put on a low dose of lisinopril last year and he started complaining about leg and joint pain within two weeks. We went back to his specialist who adjusted his dosage slightly, and that helped him a lot. Please don't let them suffer in silence, just take them to the doctor to see if the medicine needs changing.

I can't say if it happens to everyone, but I personally had weird ankle and joint stiffness when I was on this medicine. I ended up discussing it with my doctor who switched me to another tablet. It might be worth just calling up your clinic and letting them know what you are feeling.
