Can liquid iv cause kidney stones?

I often feel dehydrated after my workouts, and my trainer suggested trying Liquid IV. My cousin had kidney stones last year, and I'm a bit worried about consuming new supplements. Can Liquid IV lead to kidney stones?

Hey, don't stress too much about this! Drinking Liquid IV once in a while won't give you kidney stones, just don't overdo it daily since it has a good amount of sodium.

Liquid IV has a high concentration of sodium and sugar, which can put a load on your kidneys if taken in excess. For daily hydration, plain water is always the safest option.

At my age, even breathing too hard feels like it could cause kidney stones! Honestly, unless you are drinking multiple packets daily, you are probably fine. Just stick to normal water mostly.

As someone who has had two kidney stones, I avoid hydration packets with high sodium because excess sodium can increase calcium in your urine. Stick to fresh lemon water with a pinch of salt instead.

Usually, it is safe if you are using it occasionally after a workout or when dehydrated. Just drink lots of plain water along with it to keep your kidneys flushed.

I track my daily sodium intake on MyFitnessPal and realized Liquid IV has about 500mg of sodium per packet. If you already have a history of stones, this extra sodium might increase your risk, so monitor your overall daily intake.
