Can lichen sclerosus cause cancer?

Recently diagnosed with Lichen Sclerosus, I'm trying to understand the condition better. I've read some worrying things online, specifically about it potentially leading to cancer. Is there a direct link, or can lichen sclerosus cause cancer in some cases?

Dealing with skin issues is so frustrating, especially when it restricts your mood. While keeping your diet clean and avoiding spicy foods helps with inflammation, definitely get a proper medical opinion for the big questions.

There is a very small risk if it goes untreated for years and causes chronic severe damage. Please make sure you are regularly visiting your gynecologist or dermatologist for checkups; don't ignore any skin changes.

Haan na, listening to words like cancer makes everyone so scared. But don't worry, if you use your creams regularly as the doctor said, the risk is extremely low.

Bhaiya, darna nahi chahiye par laparvahi bhi theek nahi. Achhe doctor ko dikhayein aur unka bataya hua parhez aur malham barabar lagayein.

I have been managing lichen sclerosus for 8 years now. The risk of cancer is only about 4-5% and that too if it's left completely untreated, so keep applying your prescribed steroid creams and do self-exams monthly.
