Can laryngitis cause fever?
My daughter has laryngitis, and along with the hoarseness, she also has a slight fever. I thought laryngitis was just about the voice. Is it possible for laryngitis to cause a fever too?

Yes dear, a mild fever can definitely happen with laryngitis if it's due to a viral infection. When I had it last winter, gargling with warm salt water and inhaling steam with a drop of eucalyptus oil really helped my throat. Just make sure you rest your voice completely and drink warm ginger water throughout the day.
Laryngitis itself is just inflammation, but the underlying infection can surely give you a fever. Since I am diabetic, I have to be very careful with cough syrups and honey remedies as they spike my sugar levels instantly. If you have sugar issues too, please stick to plain warm water and consult your doctor for sugar-free options.
Honestly, a light fever is quite common when your throat is fighting off a virus. I usually prefer steam inhalation and drinking warm turmeric milk at night to soothe the throat naturally. But please check your temperature, and if the fever goes very high or you feel any breathlessness, don't wait at home and see a doc immediately.
Yeah bro, it totally can. Last month my voice went completely gone and I had a mild fever too, felt like a total zombie. I just slept all day, drank hot soup, and tried not to speak at all. It usually gets better in a few days but don't force your voice to speak.
Actually, laryngitis often stems from a cold or flu, which naturally brings a fever along with it. If you have busy workdays, don't try to push through it because voice rest is crucial here. Take a sick day, use a steam inhaler, and if the fever doesn't go down in 48 hours, just get a quick doctor's consult.
Oh god, yes! I got so scared when I lost my voice and suddenly had a 100-degree fever last week, I thought it was something really serious. Did anyone else also feel super weak and get a scratchy throat before the voice went? Please let me know how long your fever lasted, I'm still a bit worried.
