Can lack of sleep stunt growth?

My son, who is 8 years old, has been having trouble sleeping through the night for a few months now. He seems a bit smaller than his friends his age, and I'm worried. Can not getting enough sleep actually affect a child's physical growth?

While I mostly track how sleep affects insulin, I do know that the growth hormone is primarily released during deep sleep. If a teenager is constantly sleep-deprived, it can definitely impact their development. Just like keeping sugar in check, proper rest is vital for overall physical growth.

Hey buddy, don't stress too much about this. While sleep is super important for growing kids and teens, pulling a few late nights won't suddenly stop you from growing taller. Just try to fix your routine, eat well, and let your body do its thing naturally!

Haan beta, hamare buzurg hamesha kehte hain ki sote samay hi bache badhte hain. Jab nind puri nahi hoti toh sharir ko badhne ki takat nahi milti. Isliye acche se soya karo, dahi aur doodh khaya karo taaki jaldi lambe ho jao.

I'm 17 and I've had really bad insomnia for the last two years, and now I'm terrified that I have permanently stopped my growth. Has anyone else gone through severe sleep issues during their teens and still reached a decent height? I can't stop worrying about this.

Don't worry, genetics play the biggest role in your height, but sleep is definitely crucial for your body to repair and grow properly. Make sure you get 8 hours of solid sleep and stay active. Eat nutritious food and give your body the rest it deserves, alright?
