Can lack of sleep make you anxious?

Lately, I've been struggling to get proper sleep, maybe only 4-5 hours a night. The next day, I feel so restless and anxious for no reason. Is there a connection between not sleeping enough and feeling so stressed out?

Honestly, even 4-5 hours of bad sleep makes my heart race the next morning. Does anyone else also get this weird chest tightness and overthinking spiral when they are sleep deprived? It is so scary, I always feel like something is going to go wrong.

Bilkul bhaiya, jab nind puri nahi hoti to man me ajeeb si ghabrahat hone lagti hai. Mere saath bhi aisa kai baar hua hai jab mai raat bhar thik se so nahi paata. Aap thoda jaldi sone ki koshish kariye aur sone se pehle garm doodh pi liya kariye, bahut aaram milega.

I can only speak from my own routine, but whenever I pull consecutive late nights for work, my stress levels go through the roof. I don't know the medical reason behind it, but getting a solid 8 hours of sleep usually resets my mind completely the next day.

Bro, 100% yes. Last semester during exams I was barely sleeping 3 hours a day and I started getting random panic attacks over tiny things. Once I finished my papers and caught up on my sleep, all that crazy anxiety just vanished. Sleep is super important, don't mess with it.

My mother always tells me to apply coconut oil to my soles for deep sleep and peace of mind. While those traditional ways are comforting, I eventually consulted our family doctor when my sleep cycle got totally ruined. He explained how deeply sleep affects our nerves, so do visit a doc if it continues.

Definitely connected, but before you spend thousands on expensive stress panels or brain mapping tests at big labs, just try fixing your sleep schedule for a week. I made a simple budget-friendly plan of putting my phone away by 10 PM and it saved me a lot of doctor consultation fees.
