Can lack of sleep cause vomiting?

After nights when I barely sleep, I often wake up feeling nauseous and sometimes even end up vomiting. This happens quite frequently now. Can a severe lack of sleep actually make me throw up like this?

Yes, extreme sleep deprivation can trigger severe acidity and nausea, which might lead to vomiting. Since I have high BP, I know how closely sleep and stomach health are linked. Keep track of your blood pressure and get a checkup if this continues.

Happened to me during my college exams. Slept for barely 2 hours, felt totally sick, and actually threw up in the morning. My doctor told me it was just severe acidity from lack of rest. A good nap fixed it.

Oh, I totally get this! Whenever I travel overnight and can't sleep, my stomach gets so upset and I end up throwing up. Drinking some warm ginger water or nimbu paani helps settle the stomach, but you really need that sleep to recover.

Lack of sleep messes with your digestion big time. Along with catching up on your sleep, try to go for a gentle 15-minute walk after your meals if you feel up to it. It really helps with the gastric pressure.
