Can lack of sleep cause high bp?

A few times, when I got my BP checked, it was slightly elevated. I'm a new mom and often manage only 3-4 hours of broken sleep. My mother-in-law warned me about my health; can lack of sleep actually cause high BP?

I panicked so much when my BP was high after a week of no sleep, but once I rested, it went back to normal. Don't worry, but do get a doctor's opinion to be sure.

Sleeplessness warms up the body and raises pressure. Drinking a glass of warm water and sleeping early can help calm you, but please consult a doctor if the BP remains high.

Poor sleep definitely impacts my system and causes BP fluctuations, especially with my PCOS. It is a very common issue, but please show a doctor for proper guidance.

Whenever I sleep late, I feel this weird throbbing in my head. Does anyone else get high BP from less sleep? I am planning to see a doctor soon.

Yes, sleep deprivation keeps your nervous system in an active state, which raises blood pressure. A medical professional can help you evaluate this properly, so please consult one.
