Can lack of sleep cause heart palpitations?

My heart sometimes races or feels like it's pounding very hard, especially when I'm exhausted from lack of sleep. My wife told me it's not normal. Is it possible that continuous sleep deprivation causes heart palpitations?

I used to think my racing heart was just from lack of sleep, but it was actually my thyroid levels acting up. I highly recommend getting a blood test and consulting a doctor.

I get so terrified when my heart starts racing after a bad night's sleep, which makes my anxiety worse! It's usually just fatigue, but if it happens often or you feel dizzy, please visit a doctor immediately.

I read that sleep deprivation triggers our fight-or-flight response, which floods the body with cortisol and causes palpitations. It is quite common, but definitely consult a doctor to be safe.

I totally get it, that fluttering feeling in your chest can be really scary when you're already exhausted. Please try to rest, and definitely see a doctor if you feel any discomfort.

Personally, whenever I sleep for less than five hours, my heart beats very fast and unevenly the next day. I am not a doctor, so I suggest you consult one if you feel this.

A calm mind is necessary for a steady heart. Try drinking warm water and avoiding heavy tea or coffee when tired. But if the palpitations continue, consult a doctor immediately.

Heart palpitations should never be ignored, regardless of your sleep schedule. Please book an appointment with a doctor as soon as possible to make sure everything is fine.

My heart basically behaves like it's running a marathon when I only sleep for 4 hours! Sip some water and try to relax, but do show a doctor if it doesn't stop.

As a patient of hypertension, I know how sleep deprivation triggers racing heart rates. It is very important to get your BP and heart checked by a doctor regularly.

With my PCOS, hormonal imbalances and poor sleep often lead to anxiety and heart palpitations. It is a very unsettling feeling, but please speak to a doctor for a proper diagnosis.
