Can lack of sleep cause diarrhoea?

I've been experiencing random episodes of diarrhoea quite frequently, and there's no dietary reason I can pinpoint. My sleep has been very disturbed since my baby arrived a few months ago. Is it possible that sleep deprivation is affecting my digestion this way?

With my PCOS, lack of sleep triggers gut issues very easily. However, everyone's body is different. It is always safer to consult a doctor if you are feeling very unwell.

Don't stress, it happens when the body is exhausted. Just eat light meals and drink plenty of water. If you feel dizzy or it doesn't stop, go see a doctor immediately.

Bro same here, during exam season my gut goes totally crazy due to no sleep. I just drink a lot of ORS and try to crash early.

People online will tell you to drink random herbs, but please don't experiment. Diarrhoea can quickly dehydrate you. Go verify with a proper medical professional.

I always visit my family physician for digestive issues rather than guessing. Persistent diarrhoea can lead to severe weakness. Please consult a doctor for proper advice.

As someone managing high blood pressure, I know how sleeplessness ruins my lifestyle and digestive health. Keep track of your symptoms and do get a doctor's checkup if this is happening often.

I totally get it, dealing with a bad stomach while feeling exhausted is the worst. Please take rest and don't push yourself today. Take care!

My daughter gets severe stomach issues whenever she has sleepless nights during exams. I give her curd rice and keep her hydrated. If it persists, a doctor's visit is must.

Yes, stress and lack of sleep speed up bowel movements. I fixed this by avoiding tea/coffee when sleep-deprived and eating simple food. If it goes on for days, see a doctor.

My doctor explained that sleep loss triggers an inflammatory response in the gut, leading to loose motions. It is very important to rest and stay hydrated. If you notice blood or have severe pain, see a doc immediately.

Sleeplessness ruins stomach health, I have suffered a lot from this. Buttermilk with a pinch of cumin helps soothe it, but please consult a doctor if the loose motions don't stop.
