Can lack of sleep cause diarrhea?

Every now and then, I get sudden bouts of diarrhea, and I can't figure out why. My sleep cycle is completely messed up because of my irregular business travel. Could my severe lack of sleep be triggering these stomach issues?

Poor sleep absolutely disturbs your gut health and metabolism. If your doctor allows, some light walking can help stimulate normal digestion and regulate bowel movements. Rest is key, though.

First, take a deep breath and drink some water. When you don't sleep, your body gets stressed, which directly affects your stomach. Just rest today and eat simple food, but if it doesn't stop, go to a doctor.

Actually yaar, my stomach goes for a toss whenever I don't sleep well. The gut-brain connection is real! Drink some buttermilk and try to relax.

I didn't know lack of sleep could affect the stomach so much. Does it happen because of stress? I've been facing this too, so I'm thinking of asking a doctor.

Yes, sleep deprivation can upset your stomach. Try to drink some ORS or coconut water to stay hydrated. Take care and rest as much as you can.

Bro, whenever I pull all-nighters for exams, my stomach gets totally wrecked the next morning. It is super common. Just stay hydrated and sleep early tonight.

My teenage son gets loose motions every time he stays up late studying. I always give him simple khichdi and make sure he drinks water. Please consult a doctor if it doesn't settle.

Over the years, I have realized that the body needs its rest to function smoothly. A sleepless night always results in a bad stomach for me. Keep your meals very light today and rest well.

As someone managing diabetes, I know how sleep issues ruin my digestion and blood sugar levels. Be very careful with electrolyte drinks if they contain added sugar. Keep your doctor informed.

My stomach basically holds a protest rally every time I binge-watch shows till 3 AM. It’s a very noisy protest! Sip some lemon water and get some sleep.

Sleeplessness increases cortisol, which can speed up digestion and cause loose motions. Drink plenty of fluids to avoid dehydration. If you have a high fever or if it lasts more than two days, please see a doctor.
