Can lack of sleep cause blurry vision?

Lately, I've noticed my vision gets blurry, especially towards the end of the day, and I'm hardly getting 5-6 hours of sleep because of my new night shift. Could this continuous sleep deprivation be making my vision unclear?

My grandmother always suggests cucumber slices over the eyes to soothe them when they get tired and blurry. It brings nice relief, but for sudden blurry vision, it is always safest to consult an ophthalmologist to get your eyes checked properly.

Yes, it happens to me when I binge-watch food shows late into the night while munching on chips! The next morning my eyes are so dry and blurry I can barely read the menu. Give your eyes a rest and drink plenty of water.

At 50, if I sleep for less than 6 hours, my phone screen looks like a modern art painting. Yes, tired eye muscles definitely cause blurry vision. The only solution is to stop pretending you are 20, turn off the TV, and go to sleep.

Avoid rushing to get a new pair of spectacles or expensive eye checkups immediately if this is just happening after sleepless nights. Try setting a strict bedtime for a week first. If your vision is still blurry after proper rest, then go for a professional eye exam.

My fitness tracker shows a direct link between low sleep scores and eye strain the next day. When you don't sleep, your eye muscles don't get time to relax, leading to focus issues and blurriness. Try tracking your screen time and sleep to see the pattern.
