Can lack of sleep cause baldness?

My hair has started falling out a lot recently, and I've noticed it's getting thinner too. I've been under a lot of stress and sleeping very little these past few months. Could my lack of sleep be the reason for this hair loss?

I completely understand how stressful it is to see your hair falling out, it can literally keep you awake at night. While lack of sleep doesn't directly cause permanent male pattern baldness, the extreme physical stress of sleeplessness can trigger temporary hair shedding. Try to relax, it is usually reversible.

Oh god, I always worry about this too whenever I have sleepless nights! The stress of not sleeping makes you lose even more hair, which is such a vicious cycle. Try not to panic, get some rest, and maybe see a doctor to put your mind at ease.

It actually won't make you bald overnight, yaar, but chronic sleep issues cause massive stress which leads to hair fall. I was working late-night shifts and my hair was thinning like crazy. Once I fixed my routine, the shedding stopped.

Lack of sleep messes with your growth hormones which affects hair follicle recovery. Along with fixing your sleep schedule, try going for a brisk 30-minute walk in the morning. Natural movement and fresh air really help regulate your sleep patterns.

Sleeplessness disturbs the natural rhythm of our body, leading to excess heat and hair fall. Try practicing Bhramari Pranayama and cooling breathing exercises before bed. They calm the nervous system, promote deep sleep, and help nourish your hair roots naturally.
