Can lack of sleep affect vision?

Since a few weeks, my eyes feel really strained after working late on my laptop. I'm barely getting 4-5 hours of sleep, and sometimes my vision seems a bit hazy. Is there a connection between not sleeping enough and my eyesight getting affected?

My son used to complain of blurry vision and dry eyes during his board exams because he was studying till 3 AM. We took him to an eye specialist who said his eyes were just exhausted from lack of sleep and screen strain. Proper rest and eye drops cured it.

I totally get it, having blurry or strained eyes is so frustrating and scary. When I pull all-nighters, my eyes feel extremely dry, heavy, and I struggle to focus on screens. Please give your eyes some rest and try to sleep early tonight.

I know exactly how terrifying it is when your vision feels off, and your mind immediately jumps to the worst possible scenarios. Lack of sleep causes extreme eye strain and muscle fatigue, making things look blurry. Try to get a good night's sleep first; it usually clears right up.

Honestly, if I sleep for only 3 hours, I start seeing double and my eyes burn like someone threw chili powder in them. Yes, your eyes need sleep to lubricate and rest. Stop reading this on your phone in the dark and just go to sleep!

I literally just went through this last week. My eyes were twitching and everything looked a bit fuzzy because I was barely sleeping 4 hours. After getting a solid 8 hours of sleep for three days straight, my vision went completely back to normal.
