Can kidney stones cause stomach pain and bloating?

I just got diagnosed with a kidney stone. Apart from the regular back pain, I've also been experiencing a lot of stomach pain and bloating. Is this normal, or could it be related to my kidney stone?

Absolutely, they do. When the kidney is under stress from a stone, it slows down the entire digestive system, leading to terrible bloating and stomach pain. Drink plenty of water and avoid heavy meals until it passes.

Yes, they can. When my hydration levels dropped during high-protein diets, I got a stone and felt extremely bloated with abdominal pain. Keep your water intake very high and get an ultrasound done.

My doctor explained that the nerve pathways for the kidneys and stomach are shared. This nerve irritation can cause nausea, bloating, and referred stomach pain during a stone episode. It's best to confirm via ultrasound.

Beta, yes, the wind in the stomach increases when the kidneys are struggling. You can try drinking warm water with a pinch of hing, but do show it to a doctor if the pain is severe.

Yes, many people experience bloating and abdominal pain with stones. Drink fresh coconut water and warm fluids, but make sure you have a doctor look at the reports.

Yes, I had severe bloating and pain which I thought was just gas, but it was a blocked ureter stone. Please do not delay getting an ultrasound done; timely medical care is very important.

Haan babu, pathri me pet phoolna aur dard hona bahut aam baat hai. Thoda gunguna paani pijiye aur doctor saheb ko dikha lijiye, jaldi aaram milega.

With diabetes, stomach pain and bloating can sometimes be gastroparesis, but stones also cause this. Keep a close watch on your diet and consult your specialist for proper guidance.

Bloating and stomach pain are very generic symptoms and could just be IBS or food poisoning. Don't assume it is kidney stones without a proper urine test and ultrasound. Verify with a doctor.

Oh man, I thought my heavy Sunday feast was causing the bloating and stomach pain, but it turned out to be a sneaky little kidney stone! It really ruins your appetite, so get it checked quickly.

It definitely does. The pain can radiate to your stomach and mimic severe bloating or gas. Don't waste time on home remedies, just book a sonography online and consult a urologist.

My mother suggested drinking barley water for the bloating, which helped a bit, but we ultimately consulted a doctor. It's always best to rely on a proper medical prescription for stones.
