Can kidney stones cause shoulder pain?

I have a kidney stone on my right side, and strangely, I'm also feeling a persistent ache in my right shoulder. Can kidney stones cause referred pain to areas like the shoulder? It feels so far away from the kidney.

Normally kidney stones cause lower back or side pain, not shoulder pain. Instead of assuming it's related, just get a simple ultrasound done to check the stone and consult a doctor for your shoulder.

Bro, shoulder pain is highly unlikely to be from a kidney stone. Maybe you slept wrong or strained it at the gym? Better get it checked by a doc to be sure though.

I've had kidney stones thrice, and the pain is strictly in the flank and groin area. If you have shoulder pain, it could be a gallbladder issue or a muscle spasm, so please get a proper clinical diagnosis.

Unless your kidney has somehow migrated to your neck, stones don't usually cause shoulder pain! Jokes aside, it's probably a muscle pull, but do ask a doc if it keeps hurting.

I totally panicked thinking my kidney stone was causing shoulder pain, but my doctor reassured me they aren't linked. It turned out to be just posture issues from sitting all day. Don't worry, but do consult a doctor.
