Can kidney stones cause sepsis?

My doctor mentioned that kidney stones can sometimes lead to serious infections. Can a kidney stone infection become so severe that it causes sepsis? I'm really worried about this potential complication.

Yes, it can, and it's extremely dangerous. I was hospitalized last month because a blocked stone caused a severe infection that started spreading. If you have a high fever, chills, or extreme shivering with stone pain, please go to the emergency room immediately.

This is very serious. If there is a blockage and infection, it can turn into urosepsis quickly. Please don't try any home remedies or wait it out. Take them to a good doctor immediately.

Beta, if there is a severe infection or fever, home remedies will not work. You must go to a hospital immediately for proper antibiotic treatment.
