Can kidney stones cause sciatica?

I've been diagnosed with kidney stones, and lately, I've also been feeling a radiating pain down my leg, very similar to sciatica. Could kidney stones somehow trigger or cause sciatica symptoms? It's really bothering me.

I completely understand how terrifying it feels when the pain shoots down your leg. I was so anxious thinking I had a slipped disc, but my doctor told me kidney stones can irritate nearby nerves and cause similar shooting pain. You are not alone in feeling this way.

While managing my sugar levels, I faced this back pain issue. Sometimes high sugar and stones both can irritate nerves. Be careful with what you eat, avoid sweet drinks for stone pain, and get a proper diagnosis.

Drinking warm lemon water and taking light steam can help relax the back muscles. But if the pain is radiating down the leg like sciatica, you must consult a doctor first to rule out any nerve compression.

Wait, does anyone else also get a sharp burning pain in the lower back that goes down to the hip? My doctor thinks it's a stone, but I'm so scared it's some nerve issue. Please let me know if you felt this.

Beta, the nerves in the lower back are closely connected. When there is pressure from a stone, it can feel like sciatica. Drink barley water daily to clean the system, but do not skip your doctor's advice.

If it is actually a stone, light walking can sometimes help move it. But if the sciatica pain is too severe, please don't stretch or exercise without asking your doctor first as it might aggravate a nerve.

Hey, don't stress too much! The body has weird ways of showing pain, and stones often make the lower back and legs ache. Just get an ultrasound done and drink plenty of water, you will be totally fine.

Make sure you cut down on high-oxalate vegetarian foods like spinach and tomatoes for a while if you have stones. Keeping a clean, low-sodium diet helps reduce the load on your kidneys, which might ease that radiating back pain.

My daughter had a similar shooting pain and we thought it was a gym injury. But the doctor found a stone blocking her lower tract. Just make sure they drink coconut water and consult a specialist soon.

Yes, nerve pressure can cause this. Instead of wasting money on expensive back massages or physiotherapists first, just get a basic 500-rupee ultrasound of the kidneys. That will clear up the root cause easily.

Haan, bilkul lag sakta hai waisa dard na. Mere padosi ko bhi sciatica lag raha tha par check karwaya toh kidney stone nikla. Ek baar doctor ko zaroor dikha lo, dimaag shant ho jayega.
