Can kidney stones cause pain in lower abdomen?

My kidney stone pain usually starts in my back, but sometimes it moves to my lower abdomen. Is this a typical pattern? I'm trying to understand if the pain in my lower abdomen is definitely from the kidney stone.

Yes, as the stone travels down the ureter towards the bladder, the pain shifts to the lower abdomen. You should get an ultrasound done to confirm the stone's position and ensure there is no blockage.

Yes, the downward movement of the stone causes intense lower abdominal spasms. Gentle deep breathing and resting in a comfortable posture can help relax the area, but please follow your doctor's medical advice.

I have high BP and also got kidney stones once, and that lower stomach pain was very sharp. I had to manage my stress levels and get regular urine checkups to make sure there was no infection.

The shift of pain from back to lower abdomen usually means the stone is moving. I tracked my daily hydration levels on my app to ensure I was drinking enough to flush it out. Definitely consult a doctor.

Yes, when the stone reaches the lower third of the ureter, the pain is felt heavily in the lower abdomen and groin. Drinking warm water with lemon and taking prescribed antispasmodics helped me pass it.

I thought my lower belly pain was just gas and ignored it for three days until the pain became unbearable. It was a blocked stone causing kidney swelling. Please get it checked before it gets worse.

Lower abdominal pain is very common with stones. Much like managing thyroid, dealing with stones requires regular follow-ups and scans to make sure everything is functioning normally. Don't skip your doctor visits.

Oh, absolutely. It feels like someone is twisting your lower stomach. At my age, I just keep a heating bag ready and call my urologist as soon as this weird pain starts.
