Can kidney stones cause pain?

I just got diagnosed with a kidney stone, and I'm a bit scared about the pain. Everyone says it's very painful. Can kidney stones really cause such severe pain, and where exactly does it usually hurt?

Can they cause pain? Oh, only the kind that makes a grown man cry and regret every decision of his life! Yes, kidney stone pain is famously sharp and intense when it starts moving.

Yes, they cause severe pain. Don't waste money on pain sprays; instead, keep a budget of 1500-2000 rupees for an ultrasound and doctor consult so you can get proper pain medication.

I literally just recovered from a 7mm stone. The pain starts in your lower back and radiates to your groin, and it can be quite sudden and sharp. Keep drinking lots of warm water to help it pass.

I completely understand if you are feeling anxious about the pain. It can be incredibly intense and scary, but please know it is temporary and goes away once the stone is treated. You will be fine.

Yes, they cause severe pain. When my daughter had a stone, she couldn't even sit comfortably. A warm heating pad on her back really helped soothe the ache until we got medicine.

Bro, the pain is real. It literally hit me out of nowhere at midnight. If you feel a sharp pain in your back or side, get an ultrasound done ASAP.

I ignored a dull ache in my back for weeks, and it turned into agonizing pain that landed me in the emergency room. Don't wait for the pain to become severe, get a scan done now.

Absolutely. Renal colic is considered one of the worst pains. It is sharp, comes in waves, and usually hits your lower back and side. Get a urologist appointment booked.

I was just reading that the pain happens because the stone stretches the ureter as it tries to pass. It sounds really intense from what people share.
