Can kidney stones cause kidney problems?

I'm new to this kidney stone thing. My doctor just found a small stone during a checkup. Can kidney stones generally lead to other kidney problems if they are not treated? I'm trying to understand the full picture.

I completely understand how stressful this is. While drinking pumpkin seed soup and plenty of warm water helps in flushing small stones, large stones can definitely block the kidney and cause swelling or infection. Please balance home care with proper medical checkups.

Stay positive, your body has a wonderful way of healing itself. Yes, stones can cause some temporary kidney strain, but with proper care and peaceful mind, you will recover. Take your doctor's advice and drink plenty of water daily.

Haan babu, patthari ki wajah se kidney me sujan aa sakti hai aur peshab me jalan ho sakti hai. Aap bilkul laparwahi mat karo aur bade hospital me dikha lo.

My kidney stone was stuck for too long, which led to a severe kidney infection and a temporary drop in kidney function. Please do not ignore persistent back or flank pain. See a doctor as soon as possible to avoid complications.

Generally, small stones just pass out with coconut water or barley water. But if you have severe side pain, high fever, or blood in your urine, these are serious symptoms. Please consult a doctor immediately instead of trying home tips.

Yes, kidney stones can lead to complications like hydronephrosis, which is swelling of the kidney, or urinary tract infections. It is best to monitor the size of the stone with a urologist to prevent any long-term issues.
