Can kidney stones cause increased creatinine?

My father has kidney stones, and his recent reports show increased creatinine levels. Is this a common consequence of kidney stones, or should we be worried about something else? We're looking for more information.

Yes, if the stone is blocking the flow of urine, it can definitely cause creatinine levels to go up temporarily. My daughter's levels shot up when a stone blocked her ureter, but they came back to normal once the doctor cleared the blockage.

I just went through this last month! My creatinine went up to 1.8 because a 7mm stone was obstructing my right kidney. The doctor did a minor procedure to remove it, and within a week, my creatinine came back to 0.9. Please consult a nephrologist soon.

Haan babu, patthari ki wajah se kidney par dabav padta hai toh creatinine badh jata hai. Isme darna nahi hai, bas samay par doctor ko dikhakar dawai shuru kar do.

I panicked like crazy thinking my kidneys were failing when my creatinine touched 2.1 during a stone attack. But my doctor reassured me that it was just a temporary spike due to the blockage. As soon as the stone was cleared, the level dropped back to normal.

I completely understand how terrifying it is to see a high creatinine report. I was crying and couldn't sleep when it happened to me. But please know that if it is due to a stone obstruction, it is usually reversible once the stone is treated. Take a deep breath and see your doctor.
