Can kidney stones cause gas and bloating?

I've been having kidney stone symptoms, and along with the pain, I'm constantly bloated and gassy. Could this combination of gas and bloating really be linked to the kidney stones? It's making me very uncomfortable.

Yes, they definitely can. The intense pain affects your digestive tract, leading to severe gas and bloating.

I totally get it, that bloated feeling makes the kidney stone pain even more unbearable. It is because the nerves in your abdomen are so connected, making your whole stomach feel tight. Try to rest and take slow breaths, it really helps calm the system down.

Absolutely, the pain can slow down your digestion, leading to trapped gas. If your doctor allows and you aren't in severe pain, a light 15-minute walk can help release the gas and also assist the stone in moving down naturally. Just don't push yourself too hard.

Hey bro, don't stress too much about the bloating, it is super common during a kidney stone flare-up. Your gut just slows down because of the stress. Drink some warm water and avoid heavy food for a day or two, you'll feel much better!

Yes, bloating is very common. During this time, it is best to avoid high-fiber foods that cause gas, like cabbage or heavy lentils. Stick to simple khichdi or clear soups, and keep drinking plenty of warm water to help soothe your stomach.

While gas and bloating are common secondary symptoms of kidney pain, severe abdominal swelling can sometimes indicate other underlying issues. It is always safest to get an ultrasound done to make sure the stone isn't causing a block or infection.
