Can kidney stones cause fatigue?

My brother recently had kidney stone surgery, and he's complaining about constant tiredness. Could his stones have been causing this fatigue even before the operation? He's worried about getting back to work.

Yes, the blockage disturbs the body's natural energy flow, causing deep tiredness. I found that very gentle breathing exercises like Anulom Vilom helped calm my nervous system and restored a bit of energy when I had a stone. Please rest as much as your body asks for.

Please don't take the fatigue lightly. When I had a stone, I ignored the tiredness and mild back ache until it turned into a severe kidney infection with high fever. If you are feeling unusually exhausted, please visit your doctor immediately to get an ultrasound.

I have been feeling so tired lately that I can barely get out of bed, and I just found out I have a small kidney stone. Is this really normal? Has anyone else felt this level of exhaustion even without severe pain?

I went to a specialist at Max Hospital for my stone last year, and they explained that pain signals constantly drain your brain's energy, causing fatigue. I highly recommend discussing this directly with your urologist so they can check if everything is clearing up fine.

I can only share what happened to me, but yes, I felt incredibly drained and sluggish the entire two weeks I was dealing with my kidney stone. Once the stone finally passed, my normal energy levels came back within a couple of days.
