Can kidney stones cause constipation?

I've been struggling with constipation for a while now, and it's really uncomfortable. I also have a kidney stone that's being monitored. Is there any connection, can kidney stones cause constipation?

Hey! Yes, kidney stones can totally cause constipation. When you are in so much pain, your digestive tract basically goes on strike, plus those strong painkillers don't help either. Don't stress too much, just drink lots of warm water and talk to your doc.

Honestly, between the kidney stone keeping me up all night and the sudden constipation, my bathroom is my permanent home now. Yes, the intense pain throws your whole stomach off balance. Hope we both get some sleep and relief soon!

Yeah bro, it definitely does. When I had my kidney stone, I couldn't clear my stomach for three days because of the constant ache and the medicines they gave me. Keep drinking water and maybe eat some high-fiber foods, but check with your doctor.

I went to a specialist when I had my stone, and they explained that the nerves for the kidneys and the bowel are connected, so irritation in one can cause constipation. Ask your doctor clearly for a mild laxative or solution that won't interfere with your stone treatment.

Yes, when the body experiences severe pain, the energy flow to our digestive system gets blocked, leading to constipation. Gentle deep breathing and sipping warm water throughout the day can help relax the bowel. Please consult your physician for proper guidance.
