Can kidney stones cause abdominal cramping?

I've been having these episodes of severe abdominal cramping, almost like period pain but sometimes worse. Someone suggested it could be a kidney stone, so I'm wondering if kidney stones can cause such cramping.

Yes, absolutely. I ignored severe abdominal cramps thinking it was just a bad stomach bug, and it turned out to be a 7mm stone blocking my ureter. Don't make the mistake of waiting it out, get an ultrasound done as soon as possible.

Yes, they definitely can. When the stone moves and blocks the urinary tract, it causes the muscles to spasm, which feels like intense abdominal cramping. Make sure you stay hydrated, and if the pain is severe, pause your training and see a doctor.

Oh yes, it feels like your stomach is doing gymnastics. When I had it, I thought it was just gas from last night's chole bhature, but it was actually a tiny stone making its way down. Getting old is fun, but seriously, get it checked by a doc.

Haan na, it causes really bad cramping in the stomach and lower back. Sometimes the pain is so intense you feel like throwing up. It's best to show a doctor and not take home remedies for such severe cramps.

Yes, kidney stones cause referred pain that can easily feel like severe abdominal cramping or spasms. This happens because the ureter contracts to push the stone out. If the cramping is accompanied by fever or vomiting, please go to the clinic immediately.
