Can kidney stones be painless?

My friend was telling me her uncle had a kidney stone that was only discovered by chance during another scan. I always thought kidney stones caused extreme pain, so can they really be painless?

Haan yaar, actually kidney stones can be totally painless if they are sitting quietly inside the kidney. The real drama and pain starts only when they move into the ureter and block the urine path. Till then, you won't even realize it's there.

They can be painless, which is a bit tricky because you might not know you need treatment. If you suspect something, look for package deals in local labs for a basic ultrasound. It costs around 800 to 1200 rupees and is much cheaper than waiting for an emergency hospital run.

Oh yes, they are like those quiet relatives who sit in the corner of a wedding and don't make any noise until they decide to leave. If the stone is small and not blocking anything, it won't trouble you. Just enjoy the peace while it lasts and drink your water!

It is so scary to think a stone can be inside you without you knowing. I used to feel constant anxiety about when the pain might suddenly strike. But yes, silent stones are very common, and finding out early actually gives you time to handle it calmly.

Yes, they can definitely be painless. Some people only find out they have them during routine health checkups or ultrasounds. Keep up your active lifestyle and drink plenty of water to help flush out tiny ones before they grow and start hurting.

Absolutely, they can sit there without any symptoms. Since I have thyroid, I get regular health checkups and blood tests done anyway, which sometimes catches these silent issues. I highly recommend getting a yearly ultrasound done just to keep track of your internal health.
